A Great Place To Spend The Next 100 Years
Named by a Minnesota Central Railroad official’s wife, “Blooming Prairie” (located in the southeastern corner of Steele County) became a city in 1867 and served as an important hub in what was then a burgeoning wheat-growing area in Minnesota. Today, Blooming Prairie is known for its welcoming citizens and well-developed infrastructure that supports an array of businesses, churches, parks, organizations and a top-notch school system. About 15 miles south of Owatonna and 15 miles north of Austin, Blooming Prairie is well worth a visit. You may never want to leave!
