The first house was built in Center Point in 1854. The City of Center Point was previously known as McGonagall’s Point.
Center Point, Iowa is located in Eastern Iowa in Linn County. With a population of 2,421 people, we are a small but vibrant community with many amenities for our residents and visitors alike including; Multiple city parks, several churches, the Dr. Kenneth N. & Marilyn J. Andersen Library, and a thriving business district.
The Center Point-Urbana Community School District boasts a PreK-12th grade school that is recognized as one of the best in the state.
