Welcome to our beautiful City! I hope this new website provides a glimpse of what we have available in our growing town of 4,532 folks. If small town with large amenities are what you are looking for, Lamar is your town. Maybe it’s top notch fishing at our 200 Acre Lake, where $2 buys you a permit to fish all day. Maybe it’s camping at our 56 acre City Park for FREE, and watching top quality baseball and softball games. Maybe it’s enjoying our 5600 square foot Lamar Aquatic Park & Indoor Pool Facility, or our well-lit mile long paved Walking Trail. You’ll find yourself staying longer than planned.

On the “Economic Side of Lamar”, we provide some of the lowest utility rates found anywhere. Lamar is the heart of Barton County, one of the highest producing agriculture counties in the state of Missouri, which also ranks very high nationally.

Our great Barton County Chamber of Commerce will tell you we are adjacent to I-49, offer City of Lamar Square Shopping, multiple banking, insurance, grocery, auto venues day or night. Many “Start Up” costs for new business are less than actual city cost to encourage growth. We just completed a 4,000 foot airport runway used widely for agriculture, business, and pleasure aircraft. Extra efforts are made in providing well paved streets, TWICE WEEKLY Residential Trash Service for the cost of once weekly anywhere else, and top level Police and Fire Stations are ready for quick and professional response.

Missouri’s Largest FREE Fair is hosted in Lamar every August and a wonder to see and experience. Redneck Manufacturing, a world class hunting accessory company, Legacy Farm & Lawn, one of the largest Farm Equipment Companies around, Fast Eddie’s Hot Rod Shop, Tractors Barbecue, among many others too numerous to mention, all are widely known and call Lamar home.
