About New Albin, IA


New Albin was platted in 1872 shortly after the Chicago, Dubuque and Minnesota Railroad had been built through that territory. It was named for the son of a railroad official. New Albin, is a small rural community in Allamakee County, Iowa. It is a lovely little town in the very northeastern corner of the state of Iowa, located near the Mississippi River and the Minnesota border.
