Titonka is a Sioux Indian word meaning "Big Black", the name given by the Indians to the buffalo. You may recognize the word "Titonka" from the movie "Dances with Wolves". Titonka is the home of Indian Days.

The community of Titonka has much to offer for visitors and residents. There are numerous community organizations that provide a wide variety of activities for fun, sharing common interests and volunteer opportunities for all ages. Signature events such as Christmas in Titonka and Indian Days are annual activities that are packed with fun.
