About Urbana, IA


Urbana, Iowa is a quiet, bedroom community just off of interstate 380, nestled between Cedar Rapids and Waterloo. The population has increased 41.7% since 2000 and is home to 1,444 residents, many young families with children.

This close-knit town hosts a variety of community events such as the Urbana-Polk Township Fire Department fall and spring breakfasts, Lions and Legion fish fry, Center Point Ambulance pancake breakfast, Urbana Farmers Market, St. Mary’s Catholic Church Fall Festival, town festivals, and more.

On the weekend you can find families and residents enjoying outside recreation at the Central Crossing Park playground or the Cedar Valley Nature Trail. Neighbors enjoy each other’s company in the evenings with neighborhood get-togethers and cook outs.
