Business in Jewell, IA

Welcome to our dream- Dirty Kids Soap was started in January 2012, in Missoula MT, in our garage. Rachel and another mom were interested in making soaps and started putting together the framework for Dirty Kids Soap by experimenting and attending school for soap making. What started out as 12 different bars of soap displayed at a local Farmers Market on Saturday Mornings has grown to over 70 different bath and body care products that are shipped all over the world AS WELL AS sold at a local farmers market on Saturday mornings. Of course it didn't just happen over night. When wanting to move back closer to family, Jeremy took a job in Iowa and we packed up the business and moved 1,200 miles to Jewell IA. It was this move that has proved pivotal to the success of the business but we had no idea that it would. In fact, when we moved we had decided that the soap making hobby would take a back seat to other things and for 6 months we did nothing with the business. Then the job we moved over for didn't work out, and we started thinking about doing something with the soap business in Iowa. So we started doing a Farmers Market and picked up some vendor shows. I wish we could say that it was an instant hit but it wasn't. We had a number of set backs along the way but eventually things started taking off. Even while Jeremy had found another full time job we still had set our sights on Dirty Kids Soap. Over the last couple of years we traveled about every other weekend to events , devoted countless hours after the sun went down to completing tasks, and set our vision on us both running Dirty Kids Soap together full time. Since the birth of the business Rachel has been making all the products, packaging, taking care of customer service and maintaining accounts. Jeremy has been there too, building and maintaining the website, doing the graphic design, packaging product, running the booth, building displays, and packing around a lot of soap! Now, things are about the same, but as of April of 2016, Jeremy was able to quit his job and now we get to work together full time getting our awesome products to you! So now if you see Jeremy instead of Rachel or Jeremy answers your email or phone call that's the reason. The last addition to our business has been our brick and mortor store at 627 Main St. in Jewell IA. We have created a space that takes everything we make plus many other items we love. So that's us and this is our dream come true. Everyday we hand make everyone of our products, run a successful business and get to meet more friends as we are out selling our products. Thank you for a dream come true! Jeremy and Rachel Uttecht
