True Value Hardware & Home

Business in Carroll, IA

This family business started in 1948 when Elmer Friedman purchased the Coast-to-Coast Hardware franchise with my Grandfather, Joseph Taphorn as a silent partner. In 1960 my Father, Duane Taphorn bought out his Father’s shares to become full partner with Elmer Friedman. In 1990, I purchased Elmer’s share of the business with my husband Doug Jorgensen. In the late 1990’s Coast to Coast merged with True Value, and the decision to use the True Value name and logo. I grew up working in the business along side my father. We pride ourselves in being a longtime family run business and serving the community. We have traditional hardware departments, but also emphasize home accessories, furniture, major appliances and televisions. We appreciate all our customers and thank you for your long-lasting commitment to choose True Value Hardware & Home Store as your one stop shop.
