About Carrington, ND


Carrington was platted in 1882 by M. D. Carrington, and named for him. Carrington has been the county seat since 1883. A post office has been in operation at Carrington since 1883. One of the main reasons why people come to Carrington is the attractions to visit and the recreational activities that are now present. There are many opportunities to meet new people in such a loving community by just going out to a park. There is golfing a round, or getting yourself active in one of our organized recreational gatherings.

The 18-hole CrossRoads golf course is a challenging grass greens facility that will impress the novice and pro.

A beautiful walk-bike path provides a great way to relax and enjoy nature while getting some exercise.

Other recreational facilities include a municipal swimming pool, Frisbee golf, outdoor volleyball and tennis courts, three softball complexes, a bowling alley and a Youth Center that offers a host of other activities for young people Carrington also offers some of the best adventures in the great outdoors. You can take advantage of great hunting, fishing, birding, camping, hiking, horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling and cross-county skiing.
