Life in the City of Eldon offers “The Best of Both Worlds”. Eldon is a small town with strong family values, great community spirit, and an award winning school district, career center, and churches of nearly every denomination. At the same time, we are located only 15 minutes from the Lake of the Ozarks and 30 miles from Jefferson City, Missouri’s state capital.

Jefferson City and the lake area offer a wide variety of recreational activities, opportunities for higher education, shopping malls & fine dining. Located in the center of the state, Eldon is less than a 3 hour drive from St. Louis, Kansas City, or Springfield. The City is lucky to have a host of civic and service organizations for people of all ages. Youngsters can participate in scouting, 4-H, FFA, school and church activities. For adults and seniors, there are the Lions Club, Kiwanis, VFW, American Legion, and Chamber of Commerce among many others. The Eldon R-I School district has several volunteer programs including P.A.V.E., P.A.T, and the Ameri-Corps program. The City invites citizens to inquire about serving on various City Boards and Commissions or file as a candidate for elected office.
