A Neat Place to Live
Trimont is located in Martin County in South Central Minnesota on State Highway 4, just seven miles north of Interstate 90. Officially established in 1959, Trimont is actually the result of the consolidation of the twin villages of Triumph and Monterey—two different towns that had been platted by competing railroads in the late 1800s. This gives Trimont the unique characteristic of having two separate Main Street business districts that are on the same street, yet placed about a half-mile apart. Trimont celebrates in July a festival called The Chocolate Festival featuring live entertainment, a parade, community church services, and an array of food. The City is well known as a clean, friendly, and peaceful place. Nearby are the lakes of Big Twin and Cedar which provide recreational opportunities for those who enjoy fishing, swimming, and camping. Both are very popular attractions for outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year.
